Nickelodeon's TMNT Series Celebrates Daytime Emmy Win

This past weekend, Nickelodeon's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series was, in a tie with "All Hail King Julien," awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series or Special.

The award specifically recognizes Meredith Layne, Sarah Noonan, and Gene Vassilaros. Congratulations to the TMNT team!

Free Comic Book Day is This Saturday!

Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 2!

Be sure to visit your local comic book store(s) to pick up some fabulous free comic book offerings, and just to support the industry in general. (Go on, find a little something extra to buy while you're there.)

If you happen to be in Maine, or can get yourself there, be sure to visit Steve Lavigne's Shellback Artworks, where TMNT co-creator Peter Laird will be doing an appearance and signing comic books.

Laird will be appearing from 12:00-3:00pm.

And if you do find yourself at Shellback Artworks, Laird and Lavigne will also be selling the previously unpublished TMNT Vol. 4, #31. This means that all of Volume 4 will have finally been published!

Remaining copies will likely go up for sale on the official Mirage website soon after, so watch for news of that sale if you can't make it to the event.

No matter where you go to celebrate Free Comic Book Day, be sure to get to your store early so you can secure your copy of this year's special Free Comic Book Day TMNT comic, Prelude to Vengeance.

More Casting News for "Ninja Turtles 2"

Two more keys roles have been cast in the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2." Reports state that Tyler Perry will be playing scientist Baxter Stockman, while Brian Tee has been cast as Shredder.

Brian Tee replaces Tohoru Masamune, who was cast as Shredder for reshoots on the 2014 film when it was determined necessary to change the story, which originally had William Ficthner's Eric Sacks character playing the role of Shredder.

While Tyler Perry is perhaps most known for a long list of comedic movies that include his name in the title, he has also played a number of dramatic roles, most recently in last year's "Gone Girl."

Team Eastman 2015 Tour T-Shirts Now Available

If you've seen TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman at any of his many convention appearances the last couple of years, you've probably seen him and wife Courtney sporting snazzy "Team Eastman" t-shirts. Well, Team Eastman is now making special "Tour" t-shirts available to fans.

On the front are the words "TEAM EASTMAN," with Kevin's first Turtle sketch taking the place of the "A." And like concert t-shirts, the Team Eastman shirts have a list of 2015 convention appearances on the back.

If you plan on seeing Kevin at one of his remaining 2015 appearances, limited numbers of shirts should be available at the shows. However, buying online means you don't have to worry about supply and it means that you can wear your shirt when you see Kevin.

If you're ready to join Team Eastman, you can go to Kevin's website to buy. Shirts are available in His and Hers styles, and are priced $24.95 and $27.95 respectively (plus shipping). (I got my shirt in less than a week, so shipping is quite prompt!)

Michael Bay Tweets Photos of New "Ninja Turtles" Vehicles

This weekend, Michael Bay tweeted some photos of "Just some stuff I found..." While no further information was provided, the pictures are assumed to be vehicles from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2," which is in the beginning phases of production.

Two of the pictures detail a garbage truck with the words "Tartaruga Brothers" painted on the side, which is quite obviously from TMNT. "Tartaruga" is the Italian word for "Turtle."

In the 4Kids TMNT cartoon series, the Turtles utilized a moving truck labeled "Tortuga Brothers Moving." "Tortuga" is the Spanish word for "Turtle."
